Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Commer, Rootes

It was with some disappointment we read the caption beside a photograph of our new Commer Van (CM July 21).

In that caption the inference was made that this was the first hydraulic tail-lift we had ever employed on our vehicles, whereas the emphasis should have been that it was the first of this particular type, which is unique in that it folds back into the body of the cab and then swings out to lower or lift goods to the ground or from the ground. All our other vehicles are and always have been fitted with full-width hydraulic tailboard lifts.

We would feel unhappy if any firms should consider that over the past years we have delivered our 45-gallon drums by dropping them on to tyres.

E. H. ARKELL, Director. Lang/ow Products Ltd, Chesham,

[We are happy to publish Mr Arkell's letter to set the record straight, but the caption referred to did refer to drum dropping as a practice "which some distributors use— the inference being that this was not a Lang/ow practice.—Ed].
