diesels will be exhibited at Earls Court by Dorman Diesels Ltd, Stafford. It is the 8F1 and is the turbocharged version of the basic unit of the F range. A power output of 248 bhp gross is produced by the 8FT at 260C rpm and a maximum torque of 550 lb/ft is developed at 1600 rpm. The bore and stroke of the basic engine are 110min and 120mm respectively, the capacity being 9.1231s.
In naturally aspirated form the unil has an output of 160 bhp at 2600 rpm and develops a torque of 410 lb/ft at 1400 rpm. Minimum specific fuel consumption is 0.3E lb/bhp/hr in each case.
