Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The 6,000-mile journey across Australia from Adelaide to Port Darwin, which has always been considered impracticable of negotiation by heavy motor vehicles, is being attempted for the first time by several Melbourne men in a lorry which weighs 6i tons when fully equipped and manned. The lorry which is being used for the expedition is a 2-ton A.E.C., the driving wheels of which are fitted with Dunlop twin pneumatic tyres of 135 ram. section. • The first 687 miles were, we learn, successfully negotiated under the lorry's own power in spite of the fact that heavy sand-bills and river beds had to be crossed. After reaching Port Darwin, those engaged in the expedition intend to make the homeward journey via Queensland and the coast.
