Norfolk County Council is seeking the views of other municipal authorities on certain points relating to traffic and traffic control and the answers given to the following questions are those of the Warwick County Council:— Is your council in favour of legislation providing for priority of traffic on main roads as against cross roads, with the consequent power for the -highway authority to indicate by signs which road is the main road for this purpose? —Yes, such signs tobe of a standard pattern.
Does your councilfavour the policy of erecting warning signs as a general rule, or does it consider that the presence of a conspicuous signpost at a road
junction serves the same purpose of indicating a cross road ?—Our council is not in favour ofierecting warning signs, except where these are absolutely essential. Signposts are considered as adequate warning of cross roads, where such signposts are clearly visible from all approaches.
What general policy for securing safety on your main roads does your council adopt or recommend, and is this policy in general one of warnings, or of improvement of visibility or of improvement in width and radius of curves?— Improvement of visibility is the policy being followed consistently along with widenings and improvements of dangerous corners.
