Former haulier Richard Grossman was charged on Wednesday 11 April with eight offences of obtaining pecuniary advantage by deception in that he obtained insurance polices and an 0-licence; one offence of obtaining services by deception, namely working when not the holder of an 0licence; and two of forgery.

His son, Richard Crossman Junior was charged with 10 offences of obtaining pecuniary advantage by deception; two of obtaining services by namely finance for the vehicles and work when not the holder of an 0-licence; two offences of having no 0licence; and three of forgery.

The two are due to appear before the Gateshead magistrates on Friday but they will subsequently be committed to the Crown Court.
