tive units, the first a 'lightweight" model designed for bulk haulage and muckaway work. It features hypoid drive axles and lightweight steel suspension, with any cab or engine from the five ratings offered with the TO-A.

The heavier 6x4 has a similar choice of engines and cabs, but boasts hub-reduction axles and heavy-duty steel suspension to suit it to heavy haulage work. Both models will be offered with a three-piece steel bumper.

The "Lite" 6x2 tractor is designed for payload-critical applications and Pet Reg use. it has a lightweight mid-lift axle with 19.5in wheels, and is said to be almost 200kg lighter than a conventional 6x2.

wheel-drive trucks will now be offered with a Central Tyre Control System (CTCS) to monitor and maintain tyre inflation. This allows the driver to set varying tyre pressures (to suit Highway, Track. Sand and Mud conditions) from the cab.

MAN will be offering Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and the Lane Guard System ([CS) as production options towards the end of the year.

ACC monitors the truck's distance from the front of preceding vehicle, slowing down where necessary to rrq lain a safe braking space. L checks the position of the VI in relation to road markin warning the driver with an at ble signal if the truck is aboul drift across lanes.
