A COURT case involving a transport operator from Welling, Ker was reluctantly adjourned by Bexley magistrates last week after tl accused, Alan Brooks, failed to appear in court.

Mr Brooks faces 17 separate charges which were part-heard by the court on September 3 (CM September 12). An adjournment was requested by Mr Brooks's solicitor, Michael Nicholls, last week, as his client did not realise that the day in question (October 8) was a Jewish day of Atonement.

Asked by the magistrates whether Mr Brooks was still fact in the country, Mr Nicho said that he was "not 100 p cent sure."
