Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Tait, Business / Finance

ALTHOUGH the manager of Tait's Transport, Leamington, Newcastle upon Tyne, was an undischarged bankrupt, he was applying for discharge. Creditors had already received part payment and it was intended they should receive 100 per cent.

This evidence was given before the deputy northern LA, Dr Lionel Blair, last week when the firm applied to add four vehicles and a trailer to a licence already authorising six vehicles.

The manager, Robert Tait, handed in maintenance records. In reply to the deputy LA he agreed that the present depot, at Foundry Lane, was regarded as unsatisfactory for the size of fleet proposed.

With the number of vehicles at present operating, said Mr Tait, it had not been felt wise to go in for a larger depot.

The business had expanded with the growth of traffic between Newcastle and Merseyside and there were now transport managers both at Newcastle and Liverpool. Two fitters were employed and all the vehicles had been paid for.

Furnishing financial evidence in camera Mr Tait satisfied the deputy LA on this score and said when he obtained his discharge it was intended he should become a partner with his wife, Mrs Joan Tait, the licence-holder, in the business.

The application was granted.
