Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I just thought you might like to mention in your very good magazine the very bad signposting of a 2i-ton limit in the Highgate Village area. I was one of 90 drivers fined £40 each for failing to be aware of the limit.

Apart from the fine being out of all proportion for the offence, I would have thought that the magistrates would have begun to wonder how all these lorry drivers could make the same mistake unless the signposting was badly placed.

1, and I would think most lorry drivers today, do not ignore traffic signs on purpose. J. D. SMITH, Watford.
