Mr. Berry was with the Institution of Automobile Engineers and transferred to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers when the two organizations were amalgamated.

• MR. HENRY SPURRIER, general manager of Leyland Motors, Ltd., sailed on the "Queen Elizabeth" last Saturday for Canada, where he will superintend the expansion programme for the sale of Leyland vehicles in that country. MR A. F. CHARNOCK, the company's general works manager, is now in America, making an intensive investigation into production methods and factory management. He intends to visit more than 20 American commercial-vehicle, car, and machine-tool factories. Both Mr. Spurrier and Mr. Chaniock are expected to return to England towards the end of November.
