MR. J. E. CHESTERMAN has been appointed sales manager of Douglas Weir, Ltd. The company handles the' distribution of Seddon vehicles and Pilot tipping gear in Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire, and stocks Bedfords.
MR. T. F1ELD-RAYNER has resigned his position as works manager of Grace and Sutcliffe, Ltd., to become mechanical superintendent of Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., at Preston. He was at one time with the West Riding Automobile Co., Ltd.. Wakefield. • MR. ROBERT C. CABRERA, of the Latin-America Division, Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., is leaving soon on an extended tour of Columbia and Venezuela. After three years in England, MR, F. F. SULLIVAN is leaving for Singapore to take up an appointment as Dunlop district manager in Southern Malaya.

MR. VICTOR BERRY has joined the United Africa Co. (Managing Agency), Ltd., to undertake the recruitment of mechanical and motor engineers for the East African scheme for the mechanized production of groundnuts. Mr. Berry was with the Institution of Automobile Engineers and transferred to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers when the two organizations were amalgamated.
• MR. HENRY SPURRIER, general manager of Leyland Motors, Ltd., sailed on the "Queen Elizabeth" last Saturday for Canada, where he will superintend the expansion programme for the sale of Leyland vehicles in that country. MR A. F. CHARNOCK, the company's general works manager, is now in America, making an intensive investigation into production methods and factory management. He intends to visit more than 20 American commercial-vehicle, car, and machine-tool factories. Both Mr. Spurrier and Mr. Chaniock are expected to return to England towards the end of November.
