Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FLEET AUCTION Group (FLAG) has launched a remarketing guide for municipal and plant vehicles being sent for sale at auction to help improve residuals and best practice.

The free 20-point guide, Best Practice and Reduced Risk Used Vehicle Disposals, looks at the selling channels available to local authorities and the public sector. It assesses why best practice is important in reducing corporate risk, and examines issues and guidelines to consider when selling ex-fleet vehicles at auction.

The rise of municipal vehicles is significant to FLAG's continued overall growth, as chief executive officer Andrew Walker explains. "Local authorities are becoming an increasingly important source of vehicles and plant at auction," he says.

"For the Fleet Auction Group it's a real growth area and one into which we are putting a great deal of marketing effort, including this guide to best practice and reduced risk, with further initiatives planned for 2006.

"Light commercials from this sector have a ready market, but for the specialist vehicles and plant there's a limited number of trade buyers. The quality of pre sale marketing to these dealers is vital in determining how good the residual value on the day is."

This guide backs up the Corporate Responsibility for Used Vehicle Disposal boardroom briefing prepared by Professor Peter Cooke and published by FLAG in September, with additional comment from the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE).
