Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NORFOLK LINE is setting up a base centre in North Wales after one of its contractors closed with the loss of 25 jobs.

Gareth Jones has retired due to ill health, 10 years after establishing Gareth Jones Transport in Holyhead.

Norfolk Line has decided against taking over Jones's assets and workforce, even though he has worked exclusively for the ferry and multi-modal freight specialist for several years.

Eddie Green, UK director of Norfolk Line. says: We felt it best to run our own business. We wanted to do it our own way. It's a new yard rather than a depot we're setting up.

lie adds that the operation will employ 13 drivers:it will also involve buying new trucks as well as diverting a number of existing vehicles from elsewhere in the business.

"We are looking for a site at the moment," Green reports. "We've advertised to recruit drivers. We've had a very good response and the jobs are likely to be filled."

He says running the operation from Jones's base is a possibility but adds: "Gareth Jones has a lease on the place. It's up to him if he wants to keep it.Jones is selling his fleet of 18 trucks but declines to comment on Norfolk Line's decision not to take over his assets and his workforce.
