• Argos has included four double-deck 12.2m versions in an order for 26 Tidd Streamliner trailers.
Hauled by a new fleet of 28 and 32-tonne plated Scania P93 tractive units, the 4.42m high twin deckers provide 70% more load capacity and are served by Ross & Bonnyman twotier lifts ahead of the rear doors.
Argos's newcomers have Tidd's bonded GRP streamlining kits that include side skirts with rubrail trim and bulbous double-curvature wind deflector panels. Tidd's new Sidewinder curtainsider has entered production, the first batch of 25 will enter the Walker Smith fleet.
Instead of tensioning via buckles, the curtains tighten vertically and horizontally using a roof-mounted torque bar. This eliminates water getting into the pelmet area.
