• The latest development of Tressler Environment's MultiPress is an air-powered pneumatic machine that is claimed to compress the paper and plastic contents of the average skip into a two-foot cube.
The maker claims that its machine will cut skip usage by 80-90% and will pay for itself within months. The compact design fits into the smallest of workshops and the machine is easy to use, cheap to operate and maintenance-free.
Power must come from a compressed air source and Tressler recommends 110-120psi as being an adequate supply pressure. The press, which costs £1,295 ex. VAT) will also crush empty cans (up to 25-litre capacity) with similar effectiveness but is not designed for use with used oil filters. Tressler do produce a specialised oil filter crusher which separates out the waste oil for responsible disposal.
