Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A new range of AL-KO Kober hand-operated winches has just been released. There are four in all, rated at 350, 300, 650 and 900Kg maximum vertical lifting load.

Designed to operate in either lift or haul mode, each one can be used with a wire cable or a strap, according to your requirements. The manufacturers state that these new winches meet the European Directive 88/392 which requires the fitting of brakes — all feature load pressure brakes — and that all comply with TJK lift regulations as well.

Winding and unwinding is achieved by manual operation of the handle and the design of the winding mechanism means that minimal maintenance is required. Features include fully enclosed reduction gearing, galvanised steel construction, yellow chromatised finish and protective side covers.

Cables and belts, matched to the winch model, are supplied separately to enable users to select the most appropriate type of connection. The cost of the winches ranges from £56 to £125 with cables and straps selling for an additional L24-.£66 and £20-1234 respectively.
