Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ni Wincanton is locked into more pay talks with its drivers at depots around the country with some of them already threatening industrial action.

Drivers on Asda contracts at depots in Washington, Wigan and Dartford are unhappy at how their pay has fallen behind that of other drivers.

The company is believed to have offered 3% at Wigan— and union ballot papers went out this week. "Over the years we have fallen behind on pay and it's coming to the crunch," says one of the drivers. We used to be next to tanker drivers who can earn £10 an hour."

Another driver says: "We are ready for industrial action. There will probably be an overtime ban to start off with."

Drivers at the Washington depot have accepted a 10% pay offer over two years and backdated from last October. Pay talks have not yet begun at Dartford.

GMB regional officer John Hursthouse declined to comment. Wincanton also refused to discuss details of the negotiations but was confident of reaching agreement at all its depots.
