Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I The truck market continues D suffer compared with last ear; overall sales are down by round 15% for the year to date, .ccording to the latest figures -om the Society of Motor lanufacturers and Traders.

However, market leader Oaf 5 holding up while Renault VI Lnd MAN steadily outstrip last ear's performance. Renault ales are up by almost 45% for he year to date, although Ipril's sales were down cornered with April 2000.

Light CVs are a different tory, with overall sales up by 3.6% for April and by 3.9% for he year to date.

Here the big winner is still :itroen: with sales of 4,884 vans his year, the French manufac turer is third behind Ford and Vauxhall. Peugeot and Renault have also increased their market share. Ford has reversed the decline in its market share—the success of the new Transit has given it 30.2% of the UK tight CV market for the year to date.

Vauxhall's sales continue to slide, although the new Corsavan and especially the new Vivaro should help in the second half of the year.

Tractive unit sales have dropped sharply. They were down by 8.8% in April, while 18tanners and heavy vans (from 3.5-7.4 tonnes GVW) have done especially well. The SMMT attributes this to the growth in the distribution sector.
