SI No 116 The Driving Licences (Designation of Relevant External Law) Order 1994 —cif 12 February 1994.
Goods and passenger carrying vehicle driving tests taken on Isle of Man are accepted for the issue of a UK driving licence.
SI No 298 Quick Frozen Foodstuffs (Amendment) Regulation 1994 —cif 1 September 1994. Implements EC Directives 92/1 and 92/2 on the monitoring of temperatures of quick-frozen foods during transport, warehousing storage sampling procedures and methods of analysis.
The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations. Increase in weight limits to 44 tonnes for articulated lorries and drawbar trailer operations on six or more axles when carrying containers, swap-bodies or 'bimodal' semi-trailers, to or from railterminals. Also increases weight limit for draw-bar trader combinations on five or more axles to 38 tonnes with restrictions on the drive axle. Regulation laid before Parliament on 25 February—implementation date awaited.
The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations In-cab height signs for vehicles over 3m;warning systems for vehicles with high-level power operated equipment; notification to highway authorities of vehicle and loads operating above 4.88m. Anticipated implementation date still 1 June 1994.
