Albion's Trading for 1932.

The directors of Albion Motors, Ltd., report a loss of £11,902 for the year ended December 31, 1932, which compares with a. loss of £18,967 for 1931. A final dividend of 3 per cent. (less tax) on the preference shares is to be paid for the half-year, but there is to be no distribution on the ordinary shares.

Pneumatic Tyres on a Mileage Basis; Important New Agreement.

Tyre manufacturers interested in the supply of pneumatic tyres for commercial goods-carrying vehicles have, we learn, subscribed to an agreement with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, undertaking not to enter into new contracts for the supply of such tyres on a mileage basis for vehicles of this kind. The agreement took effect as from February 1, 1933, and, whilst the undertaking expressly refers to new contracts, its extension to existing contracts will, we understand, be brought into operation whenever possible.

Cha.ssis Components Needed in Canada.

His Majesty's Senior Trade Commissioner in Canada reports that he has received an inquiry from a firm who are desirous of purchasing motor-vehicle Darts, equipment and accessories, including front and rear axles, wheels, steering gears, engines, transmission components, frames, tyres, etc. Those in a position to offer goods of United Kingdom manufacture can obtain further particulars from the Department of Overseas Trade, 85, Old Queen Street, London, &W.1, quoting reference GX12367.

Vehicle Imports and Exports.

The value of motorcars, commercial vehicles, chassis and accessories imported during February was £196,265. This compares' with £231,041 for the equivalent month of 1932, and £388,642

inE1X9p3o1r.ts of complete commercial vehicles show an improvement, the February figures for 1933 being 187, value £37.510, as compared with 98, value £23,450, for 1932, and 230, value £102,875, for 1931. Tractors also show an improvement.

As regards commercial-vehicle chassis, the total for February, 1933, was 541, value £75,086, compared with 469, value 198,072, for 1932, and 177, value 152,120, for 1031. It will be noted that more chassis were exported, but the value was considerably less. There was a substantial drop in exports of chassis of over 28 cwt. This was mainly due to -the exceptionally heavy exports to India in February, 1932, which have not been maintained.

The total parts and accessories exports are much improved, the figixrea being £239,422 for 1933, £104,537' for 1932, and £180,889 for 1931.

A Traffic Commissioner on the Salter Report.

At the annual dinner of the Birmingham Horse and Motor Vehicle Owners' Association a few days ago, when the chair was occupied by Mr. L. C. Tipper, Aid. A. H. ,fames, who is one of the Traffic Commissioners for the West Midland Area, and is chairman of the Birmingham Tramway and Omnibus Committee, proposed the toast of "The Association." Be referred to the iniquitous proposals of the Salter Conference, saying that any increased taxation to he imposed would be decided by Parliament as part of the Budget provisions, and would, therefore, unfortunately, be submerged by other controversial subjects occupying Parliament at the time.

L.N.E.R. Road-transport Publicity.

A booklet entitled "Delivered Home" is published by the London and' North-Eastern Railway (Ia. to show how unusual loads are transported by the company from door to door, using both road and railway. In the main, the pagos‘ are occupied by photographs depicting heavy and awkward loads that have been transported.
