Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Imperial Commercials has expanded its presence in Scotland.

Words: Kevin Swallow INDEPENDLN I MULTI-franchise CV dealer group Imperial Commercials has cemented its presence in Glasgow by acquiring the Bellshill-based DAF Vehicle Service Business from Trucktec for an undisclosed sum.

The Bellshill site, at the top of the M74 east of Glasgow, becomes the third DAF site covering the city and the area, joining the Cumbernauld and Govan DAF dealerships; the fourth is an Isuzu Trucks franchise. The deal lifts the Glasgow workforce from 150 to more than 190. MD Ian Oakes says Trucktec's DAF operation is great for Imperial's growing business: "We will continue to enjoy our close relationship with Trucktec, which benefits each of our businesses and our customers."

Imperial Commercials has been running a parts business out of the Bellshill site for the past 18 months, and the deal, says Oakes, is the latest step in a longstanding productive partnership.

The Trucktec deal is expected to be confirmed on 1 July 2010. •
