Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Exeter-based Parsons Nationwide Distribution brought in the 455/45 R 22.5 X One MaxiTrailer tyres six months ago in the hope they would prove longer-lasting.

The company runs a mixed fleet consisting of 30 tractor-trailer combinations, mainly curtainsiders and eight bulk tippers, as well as 13 rigids.

Operations manager Philip Clemens says subsequent driver feedback showed the tyres offered better stability. "Bulk tippers are prone to going over, so anything that could limit that risk had to be looked at," he says.

Parsons Nationwide Distribution run two artics and three rigids under franchise agreements with Bardon Aggregates, and uses two other Parson bulk tippers for additional work with the aggregate company. He and his son, Andrew, found a tilt table at the Chobham Proving Ground, and told Michelin about it. Although the trial was a success, Clemens is also waiting to evaluate the longevity of the tyres before getting carried away He says he will consider them for future trailers, providing the 455/45 R 22.5 X One MaxiTrailer tyres fitted to one of the vehicles sees out 18 months and 170,000km.
