A consultative document 3rovides for a multiplicity of gear such as ropes, slings, chains and eye bolts to be supplied with a manufacturer's certificate of safety limits and extends existing legislation to twistlocks, clamps, lifting eyes, beams and frames.
It also provides for every person who uses or proposes to use any lifting gear coming within the regulations, to secure the services of a competent person.
Comments on the Lifting Gear (Testing and Use) Regulations Consultative Document are required by October 28 and copies can be obtained from the Executive at Baynards House, 1 Chepstow Place, Westbourne Grove, London W2 4TF.
