workshops. _

MR. C. L. MILDENHALL has been appointed Pirelli sales representative in the London region, operating in Kent. Ma. P. J. CROWHURST has taken up a similar appointment in the London region and is covering the south-east London postal districts. As a result of these appointments, MR. F. LIRONI will concentrate his activities in Sussex and in Tunbridge Wells, and MR. P. C. A. MANSELL Will operate in the south-west London postal districts south of the Thames and in parts of Surrey and Middlesex.

MR. ROBERT 0. BROOKE has been appointed general sales manager of Measham Motor Sales Organization. He will devote special attention to the development of both auction and private sales of commercial vehicles.

COL. A. JERRM, MANST.T., has unanimously been re-elected president of the Traders' Road Transport Association. Last week he attended, in Paris, a meeting of the presidential committee of the International Road Transport Union. He is a vice-president of the Union.

MR. BADEN POWELL has been appointed chairman of the Yorkshire Region of the Institute of the Motor Industry, in succession to MR. C. F. LAWRENCE KIN(i. Mr. King has replaced MR. P. R. BAUGH as deputy chairman. Mr. Baugh is honorary treasurer and MR. FRANK LOCKWOOD honorary secretary.

MR. W. S. DICK, managing director of London-Scottish Transport, Ltd., and George Rodger (Motherwell), Ltd., was recently honoured by his staff and received presentations from MR. W. QUIN, Scottish Licensing Authority, on behalf of the employees. Mr. Dick's haulage interests will be taken over by the British Transport Commission on July 7. His companies are centred on Glasgow, and have branches in Leith, Larbert, Alloa, Doune, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London. with large maintenance depots at Carfin and Motherwell.
