WARRANT without bail has en issued for the arrest of a truck Iver who faces disqualification om driving if found guilty : having a defective tyre on s vehicle.
His employer, Aqua Cool Fresh Dgistics of Greenforrl, London. as fined £1,500 by Solihull agistrates a few weeks ago for having the incorrect depth of grooves on a front tyre on one of its 17-tonne trucks, But the driver, Stephen Farmer of Conduit Way, Greenford, failed to attend court on the same charge. At the latest Solihull magistrates hearing, Farmer failed to attend again after Dominic Green, prosecuting for Vosa, told the magistrates Farmer had also failed to send in his licence to have more penalty points added for a previous offence.
By now Farmer should have 11 penalty points recorded on his licence and if found guilty of the latest offence involving the defective tyre, three more would be added, disqualifying him from driving," said Green.
The magistrates were told that the summons had been returned marked 'gone away'. One of the magistrates said: "He is obviously trying to avoid further action because he faces disqualification." The magistrates approved the warrant for Farmer's arrest without bail on Green's request.
