The production of Commer vehicles has outgrown the existing servicing facilities in London, and, accordingly, Commer Cars, Ltd., has removed this branch of its activities to more commodious quarters at Edgware Road, Cricklewood, London, N.W., which have been constructed to deal with commercial-vehicle repairs. As from January 27, the existing service depot at Lodge Place, N.W.8, will be closed, whilst the new depot will be opened on February 3. The new premises, which are situated near the intersection of the North Circular Road and Edgware Road, are readily accessible from all parts of London.

Railways Question Coal Hauliers.

Coal dealers and coal hauliers formed a large proportion of the applicants at a sitting of the North-Western Licensing Authority at Liverpool, last week. In each case, Mr. G. H. P. Beames; for the railways, questioned applicants as to whether they held a letter of authority from the Lancashire Col

lieries Association. In this class of case, too, he asked that the words " from railhead " be inserted on the licence .before the name of the base. All the applicants agreed to this alteration being made.

Order for 1,199 Reos.

The Reo concern, of U.S.A., is reported to have received what is considered to be the largest single order for motor vehicles ever given out by the American Government. The contract is for 279 30-cwt. tipping lorries and 920 2-tonners.

Manchester Traffic Managers Dine.

There was a good attendance at the fifth annual dinner of the Manchester and District Traffic Association, held. at Manchester on January 8. The chief feature was the presentation by Councillor W. P. Jackson, J.P., of diplomas to the first eight students to be successful in the industrial transport course, established three years ago by the Manchester High School of Commerce, in co-operation with the Association; Councillor Jackson congratulated Mr. H. L. Marsden, the principal of the school on the successful work in training the students, and stressed the importance of modern transport facilities to the Manchester district.

Mr. A. Mycoe occupied the chair, and said he felt sire there would always be a Plade in irtellistrir for the traffic' manager who knew his job.
