Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

1ER 37 years as an HGV river I now wonder if the job is ping to be worth doing when the Vorking Time Directive (WTD) Dines in.

I drive for a large East Anglian aulier with a decent vehicle and lirly good wages based on hourly ay and four or five nights ut a week. which is the way and most other 7ampers prefer to fork.

As I see it,after the VTD comes in I will ither lose money hrough reduced lours and nights out ir have to share a chicle four on and four iftmeaning weekends viii be just another vorking day.

I take a pride in my vehicle, specially the interior, as it is my tome for the week and I do not elish sharing it or taking my )elongings in and out every our days.

Taking the other scenario of !ompensating for the hours over this in effect means taking an inwanted unpaid week off after 7 weeks.

Do the powers that be really hink they have made things vtter? I can see no advantage for Myer or operator.A whole sector )1' drivers will have to alter their may of life with a probable loss of noney and !imagine a large Iroportion will vote with their -eet and leave the industry.

As a judge at Truck fest,' Nonder how many operators will )e able to spare vehicles for three Jays for a truck show now the ime available for earning is -estricted.
