Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Austrian truck maker Steyr seems unlikely to replace its long-serving heavy truck cab before the Euro-2 deadline in 1996—although it will use the MAN F90 cab, courtesy of its German parent MAN, as the basis of the replacement with its own unique exterior styling panels. Steyr has added a new 266kW (357hp) engine to its power line-up.

• Renault has unveiled a more compact version of its in-cab telecommunications package in a Renault Magnum. The original in-cab communications tower now fits on the dashboard.

• lveco has launched a lowfifth-wheel-height version of its EuroTech tractor for use with megatrailers. The MP 440E34T/FP tractor has an unladen fifth wheel height of 960mm. A device on the truck regulates the ride height with 250mm of travel. A lowheight version of the EuroStar is also on offer. RHD EuroStar tractors will be launched in the UK around June.

• A new version of Leyland Daf's Series 60 (Freighter) I 7-tanner is expected to appear in 1996 with a cab based on the current subframe but with revised exterior panels. Leyland Daf is also fitting Groeneveld single-line auto-chassis-lube as standard on all 65/75/85 and 95 chassis sold in the UK which will allow 40,000km service intervals.

• Renault VI improved its position in its home market last year raising its registrations of trucks above five tonnes to over 44%. Following the recent launch of the aerodynamic cab package for the Major tractor, lighter weight versions of the Magnum for the UK are also expected soon.
