Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• BOC Distribution Services posted unexciting but steady results for the last quarter of last year, in a move that secures its future in the BOC Group.

ROC Distribution—part of the Vacuum Technology and Distribution Services part of BOC—continued to achieve a good performance for the three months to 31 December 1993, the group said last week.

Turnover for the Vacuum and Distribution stood at £96.8 million compared with £79,5m for the same period in 1992. Operating profit was £9m, an increase of Lalm on the same period the previous year. However, most of this increase was due to ROC's vacuum business.

HOC investor relations group manager Christopher Marsay says: "There has been some growth in the distribution business but it tends to be a fairly steady performer". He rules out selling the business saying the group will look for further domestic and Continental acquisitions to fit into the distribution operation.
