Skefko Ball Bearing Co. Ltd. has appointed P. A. Champion, formerly technical manager, as marketing manager; J. White, former marketing and sales manager of the automobile division, is now home sales manager; and R. W. Allen is sales administration manager.

C. N. Kinnersley, who joined Transport Brakes Ltd., Bristol. in 1958, has been promoted from area sales manager to automotive sales manager.

Former Dennis Bros. Ltd., publicity manager E. C. Scott has been appointed general sales promotion and advertising manager of the Perkins Engines Group UK operating unit. He replaces S. T, Sykes, who has taken an appointment outside the group.

Ben Kinehin, area manager for Yorkshire and Lancashire. has been appointed tothe new position of national sales promotion manager.

Basil Day, a director of Crane Fruehauf Trailers Ltd., has been appointed to the British Standards Institution's committee on freight containers as the representative of the SMMT. The committee is responsible for the standardization of containers. Mr. Day, 36, is general manager of Crane Fruehauf's North Walsham factory.

E. Buckby has been appointed automotive sales manager of Metalastik Ltd. Under C. R. Swims, general sales manager, he will head the company's newly formed automotive sales group. Mr. Buckby was previously Midlands sales manager.

J. D. Gregson has been appointed service director to Atkinson Vehicles Ltd. He came to the board of Atkinson a year ago following the acquisition of Atherton Brothers Ltd., the company of which he remains managing director. Mr. CTrcgson will be in charge of all service and stores matters at the new £250,000 centre now nearing completion at Club Street, Bamber Bridge. near Preston.

Mrs. Joyce Hart has taken over the management of Oliver C. Bishop, the Coalville coach firm, following the recent death of the founder, Mr. Oliver Cromwell Bishop, her father.

J. L. Gormezano, has been appointed assistant general manager, European zone, international marketing, Perkins Engines Group. He succeeds A. J. Pittevils, who has taken up a special managerial post in the company.

Production control reorganization necessitated by the expansion of manufacturing facilities within Leyland Motors' group of Lancashire factories has led to a series of new appointments: L. Murray has been appointed production control manager. He was previously works manager of the company's North, South and Farington factories, a position now held by L. Southworth. former Spurrier works manager. B. Swann, South works superintendent, has been appointed acting factory manager of Spurrier works. J. Hargreaves, formerly assistant material controller, has been appointed production control superintendent. W. Thompson who was the senior superintendent of the Farington Comet factory, has been appointed chief superintendent of the Farington production factories. H. Smart, formerly assistant South works superintendent, has been appointed South works superintendent. C. G. Whalley, chief planning engineer (methods), has been appointed planning controller and K. Bonney has taken his place. In business as a general carrier for more than 45 years, Zina Rowbotham, of Market Street, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire, has retired. The business, operated under the name of J. Rowbotham and Son, will be carried on by Mr. Rowbotharn's son, Graham.

Sandy Coutts, of W. Alexander and Sons, has been presented with a tape recorder by his colleagues at the bus company in recognition of his 40 years of supervisory work with Alexander at Montrose.

Reginald Warner, transport manager of the Derby Evening Telegraph since 1939, has retired. He estimates that since he became transport manager, his department vans have covered nine million miles without a fatal accident. His successor is Arthur Moseley, deputy transport manager since 1945, and the new deputy transport manager will be Thomas Hatton.

W. D. (Bill) Avery is the new sales manager for the semi-fabricated products division of Star Aluminium Co. Ltd., at Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

John Morris, MP, Joint Parliamentary Secretary at the Ministry of Transport, has been appointed chairman of the National Road Safety Advisory Council. He replaces Sir Alfred Owen, chairman of the council since its inception in March 1965, who has accepted the Minister of Transport's invitation to continue to serve the council as its vice-chairman.

Teiamite Ltd., announces that L. G. Denbow has been promoted from north-east area manager to sales training manager at Bentham: S. P. Shaw to north-east area manager; R. Wynne from Norwich depot manager to Scotland area manager; and C. J. Greenacre to depot sales manager, Norwich. Appointed depot sales managers are: F. Cooper (Oxford), K. Watford (Stoke) and A. O. Dunn (Hull).

Harold W. Sansum, who joined ERF Ltd., general sales manager for the past eight years, has been appointed sales director. John W. Hobbs, who joined the company as secretary last year, becomes secretary and director. And Eric D. Green has joined ERF as production director. Mr. Green was previously director and general manager of Atkinson Vehicles Ltd.

D. M. Miller, who has for some time been sales director of Pitt Trailers Ltd., has been transferred to the cargo handling division of its parent company, Alexander Stephen and Sons Ltd., and A. Saunders has been appointed sales manager in his place, assisted by J. F. Watkins, sales office manager.

In appreciation of his services to the Coventry, Rugby and North Warwickshire sub area of the Road Haulage Association, its members have presented a silver salver to Geoff. Mousley, director and general manager of Morton's (Coventry) Ltd.

The council of the Motor and Cycle Trades Benevolent Fund announces that Princess Alexandra has accepted the position of Patron of the fund.
