Police issue apology to IRJ Holbrook for error

NORFOLK-BASED HAULIER R7 Holbrook has received an apology from Lancashire Constabulary after the police admitted to passing out -erroneous information" in a response to a Freedom of Information (FO!) request.

At the time, the FOI response stated that two out of eight vehicles registered to the company were stopped by Lancashire Police at Haysham Port on 25 October and found unroadworthy (CM 19 November). The vehicles were returning from a runway project in the Isle of Man.

However, on 10 December, Lancashire Constabulary issued a written apology to R7 Holbrook, stating that "it had passed out erroneous information".

In the letter, Lancashire Constabulary says it is "dutybound to put the record straight" and =cedes that "none of the vehicles checked could be described as unroadworthv".

Ron, Holbrook, director at the company, tells CM: "While I am grateful to Lancashire Constabulary for having the grace to admit the error,! am very frustrated at the damage to the company's hard-earned reputation caused by this episode. The company works tirelessly to ensure its fleet is roadworthy."
