Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

taken part in one of CA4's 1,000-Point Tests, or anywhere else for that matter. In earlier tests, the tough Swede never scored high points for its interior finish, the materials used or the storage for those little items a driver carries with them and wants to stash away in the cab within reach.

Yet that is all in the past. With this latest edition of the R-Series, Scania has really cleaned up its act. The stylish new dash and smart sliding under-bed are noticeable. But there is so much more. Forget the easy-to-scratch old-fashioned grey plastics used in past versions, it's now high-quality materials all the way.

We also commend the centre console with its handy boxes, the sliding drawer and the cup holders. We were less impressed with the extended lids on the overhead lockers. They don't look great and just get in the way once you're on your feet and try to open them.

Opinions are divided over the new slide-under bed. However, we think that, for this cab set-up, it is the only viable solution.

The mattress feels very comfy. and once you are settled in, with the little optional storage spaces within reach, all is ready for a good night's rest.

Once you get out on the road, the new R480 is still a joy; it is a real driver-friendly truck that handles very well and fits like a glove.

The adjustabiiity of the steering wheel and driver's seat are excellent, which makes for the best driving position, beating other competitors. Sitting behind the wheel, the Scania handles well and holds a steady course, hardly any corrections are needed.

The R480 also stays steady in corners, with no roll, the air suspension working well.

Alt-round vision is perfect, and only high-placed traffic lights in front of the truck need some leaning forward to be spotted. Scania is the only brand to make the Euro-5 standard without the application of AdBlue.

That results in a small fuel usage penalty, because the DAF, Mercedes and MAN had to add Ad Blue to their total fuel usage. Still, the new Scania came out well.
