Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Nov-2 Dec 'recruitment, where have all the managers gone?' made me see red. I, like many other people in various professions, have had redundancy earlier this year, thrust upon me.

While I do not aspire to be in the £16,000-220,000 highflyer league, I consider that I can offer someone my 20 years of experience in various aspects within the transport industry. However, inspite of my numerous applications, I am getting nowhere fast. For every position I apply for there are so many applicants that employers are spoilt for choice, in one instance there were 73 potential managers.

I may sound bitter, but at 49 what can I expect when so many advertisements state preferred age 22 to 35?

Just as an aside, I do hold an International/National C.P.C. A L Starling Uffculme Devon
