Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Carrymaster, the Doncaster-based semitrailer manufacturer and bodybuilder, plans to spend up to £6 million on a new insulated body assembly plant which could build up to 300 insulated bodies for rigids and trailers during the 1988/89 financial year.

Several sites in the north are under consideration and the exact location is expected to be decided upon in the new year. Carrymaster currently builds some 150 insulated bodies a year at its Carcroft site and aims to boost its refrigerated bodywork production, ahead of its dry freight business, at the new factory. This would "release much-needed manufacturing space" at the existing 3.5ha site at Carcroft, says Carrymaster, which is looking for a site of around 3,8000.

Carrymaster has grown during the past year. Turnover in the first six months of the present financial year exceeded £8 million — virtually double that of the same period last year. The company says that "this rapid growth is budgeted to continue with advance orders already running well into the New Year."

O Don-Bur (Bodies & Trailers) has taken over the premises of Longton Trucks in Stoke-on-Trent, adding 3,4000 of manufacturing area to its production sites.

Don-Bur has also formed a new company, Temperature Controlled Technology, which will build insulated bodywork for vehicles up to 17-tonnes GVW, with the emphasis on vehicles at the lower end of the weight range.
