Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WE ARE conducting a pilot study into the contribution made by owner-drivers of unit loads to the distribution of homogeneous commodities throughout mainland Britain.

To assist us in this we should appreciate expressions of interest from vehicle operators and shippers who have occasion to make use of sub-contractors' vehicles to supplement or substitute their own commercial fleet.

We would expect no direct costs to be incurred by those who respond (postages will be refunded). Details of the eventual findings would be made available to respondents without cost should they be sufficiently interested.

It would be helpful if we could have the use of your letters column to publish this appeal. A. S. HAMERTON Senior Lecturer Department of Accountancy and Finance Huddersfield Polytechnic
