• Hauliers can now buy the European motorway toll certificates or vignettes by cash or credit from P&O European Ferries Freight Office in Dover. The service was introduced after the success of its fuel card-based service set up in April.

• Portsmouth Commercial Port plans to ease congestion for drivers from 1996 with an 11-acre trailer park. Freight traffic growth through the port grew at 14% last year although it was forecast to grow by only 10%.
