• Requirements for rigid urethane foam in slab form for transport containers, refrigerator cabinets and cold stores are specified in BS 4840:1972 which has just been published by the British Standards Institution.
Two types of material are covered. Type 1 material is recommended for the thermal insulation of containers and Type 2 material is recommended for refrigerator cabinets and cold stores.
In an appendix guidance is given tc designers on factors that should be taker into account to achieve the besi performance from the product.
