Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Hino 500 Series 18-tonner with a 250hp, four-cylinder Euro-4 engine with 739Nm of torque, Eaton nine-speed box, rear air suspension and a standard 'Rest' cab. A 6.2mwheelbase model is available for normal freight bodywork: a 4.26m version is offered for tippers/skip-loaders.

We like

No-nonsense fleet spec with a practical interior trim, simple driver-friendly controls. good ride and handling, responsive engine and, above all else, the 'Rest' cab as standard.

We're not sure

Similar to the Isuzu Forward Series, storage space is not particularly abundant... and Hinds handbrake is best described as 'idiosyncratic'.

We think

Distribution and rental companies looking for a robust, no-frills delivery truck will take to the 500 Series like the proverbial duck to water, ditto agency drivers who encounter one for the first time. Now Hino has to match lsuzu on spec, lead times... and price, as well as deliver on its promise of a high-roof version.
