Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ASYSTEM of automatic lubrication for the chassis parts of trailers has been introduced by Clayton Dcwandre Co., Ltd., Titanic Works, Lincoln. As the Mt-116point lubricator requires a belt drive, the equipment is fitted to the tractor, the chassis parts of which it lubricates. The lubricator also actuates a distributor valve which serves to operate an automatic lubricator fitted to the trailer. This valve is built into the blank end-cover of either a 24-point or 36point machine. Energy is supplied from the vacuum or air-pressure brake reservoir on the tractor, the connection to the trailer lubricator being through a flexible hose and coupling. ' A second revolving face-cam in the Multipoint lubricator causes the distri butor valve to to permit vacuum

su co re to be

or air pressure to the trailer lubricator, which is then released. This action produces impulses which operate the trailer' lubricator at the same rate of feed as that of the Multipoint on the tractor. • One of the first installations of this as ind w recently completed by Scammell Lorries, Ltd., on wheeled articulated outfit. The semitrailer is equipped with an air-pressureoperated 24-point automatic lubricator feeding 19 separate bearings, four of the points having double feeds.
