MR. D. M. GRACIE, district superintendent, L.N.E, Railway Co., Leeds, was re-elected for a second year's office as chairman of the Leeds and District Section of the Institute of Transport. The other officials were also re-elected.

MR. C. W. REEVE, chairman and managing director of the Associated Equipneent.Co., Ltd., returned to this country on April 6, after a world tour, which began on December 31. He covered some 28,000 miles during his travels, and his journey to Ails-hula was made by air, which enabled him to cover 12,754 miles in t2.1 flying days.

MR. ROBERT F. Sum', traffic superintendent of Glasgow Corporation's transport department, is recommended for appointment as deputy general manager. He was formerly an accountant and has been traffic superintendent since 1927. MR. GEORGE W. ALEXANDER, accountant, is to be appointed secretary and financial superintendent CAPT. E. I. SHORT has resigned his position as sales manager for Mansfields, Ltd., of Eastbourne, which he has held for 10 years, and has taken up n similar-post with Messrs. I,angney Motors, who are opening showrooms in 31, Cornfield Road, Eastbourne. His experience in the trade dates back to 1904, when he joined the ClementTalbot concern, after which he went to Napiers, and then to the Aster Engineering Co. For four years he was in charge of workshops in France, and later was with Vincents of Reading and Caffyns of Eastbourne. He takes up his new duties at the end of this month.
