A typical run for one of the new Volvo units might be to an exhibition or promotional event in the UK, western or eastern Europe. The units are equipped with two 500-litre fuel tanks as well as the largest Ad Blue tanks available on a 3.8-metre wheelbase, two-axle tractor. Such high capacity helps to avoid having to refuel when away from base.

Even at this stage, the driver is not off the hook. The bikes have to be unloaded and arranged in exactly the way that the event organiser demands. This can involve several hours of careful, methodical work. Once the client is happy, the driver is expected to ensure that his unit and trailer are also spotless. After all, the vehicle will remain on site until the event is over, at which time the bikes will be reloaded and trucked off to the next destination. During this interval, the We Move Bikes image, projected by its vehicles, has to be one of pride, polish and professionalism. "It would be reasonable to assume that at the events that attract thousands of people there would be a ready supply of running water for the drivers." says Lusty. "But this is often not the case, so we carry our own water supply in a tank installed against the front bulkhead as well as our own pressure washer. This way, trucks are always kept clean and the load distribution is evened out. The water tank helps to counter-balance the weight of the forklift at the rear."
