'HE decision of the Metropolitan Licensing Authority on an application from 0. Wray d Co. Ltd., was made known this week. The plicant sought to vary a B licence by the dition of three vehicles. The vehicles were be used to carry carpets between KidderOster and Molesey and distribute carpets within miles of Hampton Court railway station.

The applicant has 11 vehicles on Contract A ences with six separate carpet manufacturers, d also operates nine vehicles on an open A ence. British Railways withdrew as objectors ring the bearing and, in the opinion of the LA, kS adopted a "somewhat cagey" attitude .oughout the inquiry. T. V. Carroll and Sons d., also objected, but failed to satisfy the LA xt it was able to meet the needs of the carpet inufacturers.

The LA considered that the application peared to be reasonable enough but that it d been presented unsatisfactorily. He was tisfied that the present method was meeting the ed and refused the application.
