Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Machine which sells for £115 Has Threespeed Power Pulley. Wheelbase of 5 ft. Gives Excellent Manceuvrability

ATYPE of tractor capable of performing a variety of asks with equal facility is that produced by Messrs. Wood's Tractors, Neville's Cross, Durham. This machine was designed essentially to take the place of a pair of horses on land work, and it is, in consequence, of light weight as tractors go.

The petrol engine, with which it is powered, is of 14 h.p. and the gear ratios are so chosen that loads of from three to four tons can be hauled on top gear and loads up to six tons on the lower gears.

Apart from its uses for direct haulage purposes it is equipped with an ingenious form of power pulley which can take advantage of the three speeds provided by the gearbox. Thus power becomes available for such diverse purposes as driving a circular saw, root cutters, water pumps, turnip choppers, or even for a generating set.

The hoist, which also has three speeds, enables implements up to one ton in weight to be hauled on to a trailer by engine power, and hay elevators can be used with the hoist or the power pulley. By utilizing the lower gears in conjunction with a sheave block, loads up to one ton can be lifted.

This machine has a wheelbase of only 5 ft., which makes for excellent manceuvrability. We understand that the average running costs work out at 10s. per week and this figure, presumably, is based on a full week's work. Fitted with pneumatics, the price is £100, delivery at the works; or, if fitted with power pulley and hoist, £115.
