TC says light touch' era may be over

THE TRAFFIC COM MISIONER for Scotland, Joan Aitken, has warned operators attending the first Commercial Motor Legal Seminar that the era of 'light touch' regulation may be coming to an end. Speaking at the ATS Eurornaster-sponsored event. Aitken said: -Light touch is great if you want to be loved. If an operator comes before me with a problem, and they've presented the ways in which they've addressed those, that will help. But I have to consider where they've taken business from others who were compliant.

The seminars are running over the next four weeks, with events at Newport (21 October), Wakefield (22), Heathrow (30) and Cambridge (13 November), Call 020 8399 1184 to attend.
