Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An important new venture of National Tours—a consortium of 14 operating subsidiaries of the National Bus Company—was launched on Monday when a party of Americans and Canadians left London on the inaugural run of a new winter season of 15 day tours of Britain. Believed to be the first venture to extend the holiday season in Britain throughout the year, the programme provides a choice of seven all-inclusive tours of Britain specifically designed for overseas visitors.

The content of each tour has been designed to take in features of Britain not normally found in this type of programme. For example, there are visits to famous potteries, the Cutlers Hall in Sheffield. a .Nottingham lace maker and—on the lighter side—a "Cockney night out" with entertainment of the traditional busker type.

To coincide with this venture, members of the Press were introduced on Monday to some of the team of multi-lingual girls who will be hostesses on the tours, and who wear a distinctive tangerine uniform. Details of the 1971 programme, to be marketed world-wide through a network of agents, were also announced, and a "sampler" tour of the City of London was made.

There are two programmes for 1971. The first, marketed in the English-speaking world (USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa) consists of 15 day visits with group bulk and air fares. The second will be marketed in Europe through nine foreign language brochures and incorporates two 15 day tours and two eight-day tours with foreign language speaking guides. The Spanish-speaking tour will also be marketed in Latin America and the Portuguese tour in Brazil.

A distinction made between the winter tours and the summer tours is the description "Vacation Tours" and "Escorted Tours," respectively. BOAC is working closely with National Tours on the new programmes.
