DOUG AS (I.O.M.) Corporation has asked the bordugh engineer to make inquiries with respect to the provision of a tractor for the mowing machine used on the golf links.

Having experimented with motor lorries of 30-cwt. and 2-ton capacity, the Tntreo city engineer has found that the larger vehicle is not so convenient in the narrow back roads as the smaller lorry.

The tramways committee of the CHESTERFIELD Corporation has accepted the tender of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., for the supply of motorbus tyres on a mileage basis.

The omnibus committee of the STOCKTON Corporation has decided to borrow £6,158 ter the erection of a large bus garage in Bridge Road, to accommodate the rapidly increasing municipal fleet of buses.

• The tramways committee of the LEEDS Corporation has accepted the following tenders for the supply of 12 single-deck four-wheeled 32-seater buses :—Four chassis from Crossley Motors, Ltd., and eight chassis from Karrier Motors, Ltd. ; one single-deck six-wheeled 40-seater chassis, Halleya Motors, Ltd. The bodywork for all the buses will be constructed by Chas. H. Rae, Ltd. FINGULEY Urban District Council has authorized the purchase of a Ford tnotorvan at a cost of £239.

The trarnwaya committee of the GLASGOW Corporation has accepted the tenders of the Scottish Oil Agency, Ltd., for pumps and tanks for the new bus garages, and of Lacy Hulbert and Co., Ltd., for an air compressor.

The tramways committee of the BRADFORD Corporation is seeking sanction to borrow £29,500 for the construction of a central bus garage in Ludham Street and has instructed the city engineer to obtain tenders for the work.

WEST SUSSEX County Council is inviting tenders for the supply on hire of steam rollers for work during the season ending March 31st, 1930. Tenders have to be delivered by November 12th. Further particulars can be obtained from the County Surveyor's Office, Southgate House, Chichester.
