()TR TRANSPORT managed to increase its turnover and profit last year. despite writing off a had debt of more than £50,000.

The Reading-based company boosted its post-tax profit from £165,000 in 2004 to £191.(XX) in the financial yearending31 December 2005. Turnover increased from £7.5m to 8.2m.

MD Paul White says: -It's a difficult trading environment at the moment and fuel and wages are taking most people's profit, ours included. We arc fairly pleased with the results considering the current climate and the fact that we [had to write off] a had debt of around L56,000 in the year."

OTR bought Basingstoke-based Priddys Transport in July (CM 28 September). White says: "We're still integrating both companies but it is working very well."
