Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• More tanker operators are winning extra business as Yorkshire Water doubles its water transporting operation to beat the worsening drought in the county. In what is now the biggest drought relief operation ever seen in Britain, 200 tankers are set to start running round-the-clock convoys taking up to six million gallons of untreated water from Northumbria to the Eccup reservoir near Leeds.

The 200-vehicle operation, which will cost about Zlm a week, will start on Monday (20 Nov) and will be in addition to the 240 tankers that have been transporting water to treatment centres in Bradford and Halifax over the past two months (CM 12-18 Oct). Operators already taking part in the relief effort include CD Roberts Tankers, P&O Roadtanks, United Transport and Oliver's Transport. Some reservoirs in Yorkshire are already dry and a Yorkshire Water spokesman says: "Substantial amounts of rainfall ore needed to boost stocks in certain areas such as Leeds where levels have fallen to just 10%. Unless this happens soon operations may need to continue into the new year."
