Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE Traders' Road Transport Association is opposed to a change from left to right, in the rule of the road. The decision is a qualified one in the sense that-if-any fresh factor arose, the matter would have to 11,,,--nnsidered. But weighing the possible advantages aeainst the disadvantages, on the information available, the Association's view, is that there is no practical reason to justify the alteration.

Two main factors are influencing the Association: road safety and cost. From

the road-safety angle, member-firms o the Associatioii are concerned about th possible increased risk of aceidents durin the change-over period. The cost facto includes enormous expenditure in replac ing signs, redesigning traffic junctions an, making alterations and adjustments a other key points in the country's road net work. Different classes of vehicles, sod as busesand coaches, would have to b redesigned, while various types of corn merciai vehicle would also have to b, altered.
