II Stoke-on-Trent-based tanker firm Shirley's Transport has become the fifth winner of the euroShell Lifetime Achievement award at this year's Commercial MotorTruckfest,

The firm, which has been operating since 1936, now runs 73 trucks, including this immaculate Foden Alpha.

Director James Shirley says is delighted to receive the accolade. "It was a bit of a surprise to us to be honest, he adds. That said, it's a good advert for the firm and something to be proud of I think.

"We run a good standard of vehicle and make sure they look tidy when they are on the road," says Shirley.

The firm specialises in carrying oils and mild acids for dents including Bp Morris Oils and Entemol.

Previous winners of the Lifetime Achievement award include Eddie Stobart, James Ham and Pulleyn Transport.
