Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The good news is that light CV registrations rose again last month, but there's had news for the truck market as a whole: sales were below last year's figures for the third month running.

Overall registration figures for April released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders are up 4% with ight CV sates increasing by 5.4% for April. these figures echo the year-to-date increases of 3% and 4.3N respectively.

Winners in the light CV market include Renault, Vauxhall and, most significantly, Mitsubishi which more than doubled last April's total, increasing its year-to-date figures by 1,804 to 2,692 units. By contrast Ford suffered a sharp fall in the CDV sector; its April total of 1,001 units was half the 2001 figure.

The trucks and artics sector continues a gradual slide with its year to-date figures down 3.9% to 16.471 registrations; the monthly total was down 2.2% to 4,566 units.

Renault Trucks decline In sales continued; it was down more than 500 units to 793 year on year. Year-to-date leaders are Oaf, with 3,678 units sold: followed by Inca, with 2,773 units; and Mercedes-Benz, with 2,541 units sold this year.
